CASA BRAULIO, AN IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE IN THE HEART OF BORMIO, ITALY

Cassina Custom Interiors was entrusted with the renovation of Casa Braulio, the place where this amaro has been produced for almost 150 years.

Recently inaugurated by the Campari Group, it is located in the centre of Bormio, in northern Italy, and allows visitors to discover and savour the magic of Braulio's recipe, preserved here since 1875.

Thanks to its consolidated experience in bespoke solutions, the work of Cassina Custom Interiors has contributed to creating an immersive journey that has been renovated in its design while fully respecting the historic building that dates back to the 19th and 20th Centuries.

The front door has been restored in full respect of local traditions, the walls have been finished with a TattooWall technique that portrays graphics of the Valtellinese Alps, while light boxes of different sizes highlight vintage photos.

For the scenographic hallways leading to the cellars, Cassina Custom Interiors has developed evocative luminous writing, interplays of mirrors and descriptive panels, all with a carefully curated choice of materials that recall the spirit of the mountains.

Continuing to the infusion room, the division has darkened the large exterior windows to focus attention on the projected images created by Campari.

A place full of magic and wonder, the herb laboratory reveals almost all the secrets of the four main herbs in the Braulio recipe. At the centre of this area, the bespoke alchemist’s worktable features a top Pietra Compattata, a material derived from a selection of natural raw materials recovered from stone processing, while the illuminated display cabinets have been lined with fabric.

The Tasting Room welcomes visitors with a large antique-wood table, edged in the distinctive Braulio red, that has been created for this area by Cassina Custom Interiors together with a specially-designed case that displays the collection’s most prized historic bottles. It is in this refined, intimate setting that visitors are invited to sip the amaro.

Renovation of the flooring, ceiling and walls, as well as the implementation of systems and cladding of the exposed beams, are just some of the other works carried out by Cassina Custom Interiors in the complete restyling of the store, the last stop of the tour.
