Cassina has always had a special interest in diffusing the works of the authors of its collections by promoting cultural initiatives, takes part in the retrospective Paris Moderne 1914-1945: Architecture, Design, Film, Fashion.

For the exhibition, the company has provided the reconstruction of the revolutionary project Equipement intérieur d'une habitation by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand, first exhibited at the Salon d'Automne in 1929. This was the designers’ first public presentation of the iconic tubular metal furniture, at the time received with much scandal due to its unexpected and criticised minimalism, today produced exclusively by Cassina.

The interior of the Salon d'Automne, completely reconstructed by Cassina under the guidance of Pernette Perriand-Barsac, design historian Arthur Rüegg and Jacques Barsac, offers visitors an immersive experience.

This modern dwelling has been furnished with armchairs, tables and chairs that later became the central core of the Le Corbusier®, Pierre Jeanneret®, Charlotte Perriand® Collection, part of the Cassina iMaestri Collection: the 1 Fauteuil dossier basculant armchair, the 2 Fauteuil Grand Confort, petit modèle and the 3 Fauteuil Grand Confort, grand modèle armchairs, the iconic 4 Chaise longue à réglage continu, the 6 Table tube d’avion table, the 7 Fauteuil tournant, 8 Tabouret tournant and 9 Tabouret de salle de bains  by Charlotte Perriand, intégré à la Collection Le Corbusier®, Pierre Jeanneret®, Charlotte Perriand®. The single and double bed, on the other hand, have been produced for exhibition purposes.

On show at the Power Station of Art in Shanghai from the 22nd of July until the 20th of October 2023, the exhibit is curated by architectural historian Jean-Louis Cohen, with the architect Pascal Mory, and Catherine Örmen for the fashion section.
